Oak Bluffs Residence

The Thicket, The Bluff, and the Marsh

Studio Zewde crafted a landscape design for a secluded Oak Bluffs summer estate inspired by the geology, ecology, and cultural legacy of the historically Black community on Martha’s Vineyard. The design gently mediates the stately contemporary home with the surrounding landscape; the thicket, the bluff, and the marsh work in together to seamlessly ground the architecture in place as well as maximize views to the salt marsh to the south.
